The 2011-2012 Frank Phillips Plainsmen are looking forward to a great year under first-year head coach Kurtis Lay and first-year assistant coach Joey Kenworthy.

The Plainsman are returning three starters from last year’s club and will be looking for several new faces to play a pivotal role throughout the upcoming season. Frank Phillips competes in one of the most competitive junior college regions in the country with six national championship titles coming from within the league during the past 13 years. Within the past 10 years, the Plainsmen have had 13 players selected in the Major League Baseball First-Year Players Draft. Having a tradition of recruiting and developing good players, Frank Phillips plans on continuing its successful ways and being a serious force in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference.

The Plainsmen baseball program is consistently looking to upgrade their facilities with plans to add new fencing along both baselines and adding over 3,000 square feet of new grass to the surface. Currently the team has daily access to the indoor hitting and training facility, an Olympic size pool and a 2,500 square foot weight room.

Frank Phillips College is centrally located in the Texas Panhandle in the city of Borger and offers some of the best baseball weather in the country. The college offers a great student to teacher ratio and takes pride in preparing students to be successful in their trades and university studies.
